DECEPTION Ch.21 – Billy has finally read the entries

I’ve been working on DECEPTION again this weekend, and now more has been shown to Billy.

He was in unfamiliar territory when asked to read some entries that he promised he would never read. But because he needed answers, he’s had to go against that. After reading the entries, there are some answers for Billy, but some things are still unclear.

Billy returns home and something is not quite right. Something is missing. Something he loves has gone.

‘London is silent. Severed bodies lie amongst the rubble. What once was a lively city is a now a murderous grave, enclosed in smoke and ash. The cause of the destruction is unknown. Left haunted and terrified, survivor Tom Williams confronts the brutal, mutilated streets as he fights to uncover the truth. Could he be the last hope to restore normality?’

‘London is intolerable; the infected dominate the ravaged streets. Miller has gained full control and takes advantage of his authority, experimenting with the virus in an attempt to form a new superhuman army.’

“Danni entered the station, the breeze was the only sound, eerily howling through the underground; the station was deserted. She ran up the escalators and stood at the top of Waterloo station. Staring along the station she saw corpses scattered across the ground. Splattered and smudged blood decorated Waterloo.”

Download The Author – Thriller, Mystery and Suspense

‘Four years after his wife and children disappeared, Ryan Milligan decides it’s time to let go of the past and move to a new home on Mulberry Lane. Ryan hoped his new house and peaceful neighbourhood would help him to cope better with the pain of losing his family and to continue his search. Whilst settling in and writing his new novel, ‘Killing for your love’, he realises things are not what they seem…’

“My new house is only a mile away from the home I used to live in with Tan and the kids, but now I feel like I’m in a different world. I can’t help but feel like I’ve been here before and done this before. There’s a presence here, I can feel it. There are things happening in this house that aren’t normal. I’m threatened by the lack of control I have over them.

There’s one room where I feel it most, and as I stare at the door leading down into the basement, it begins to creak open.”

Writing my new thriller ‘Deception’ – Chapter 17 & 18

I’ve been writing and editing Decpetion this weekend, swiftly moving past chapter 17 and onto a shocking chapter 18.

Billy had been enjoying his dangerous victory until a familiar face appears, in the most unlikely form.

The victory suddenly turns into a punishment, which will haunt him for the rest of his life.

Chapter 19 will be a tough and emotional time for Billy.

Working on Deception this evening – Chapter 17

After a long and tension filled chapter 16, Billy is left haunted but victorious. He doesn’t know the outcome of the events from the night before, but after heading back into his woodlands, it looks conclusive. The emotions he’s now feeling are new to him though.

Knowing what’s about to come, Billy has no idea what is about to hit him. The book has been building to this point, and I cannot wait to execute this part of the story – Billy’s world is about to implode.

A writing quote

@TJBlake93: Sometimes we wish that we can get away from reality. The best way to do this is by writing #writing #amwriting #writingquote
A quote of mine that popped into my head.

It’s been a while but I’ve given ‘Flash! Friday’ a go!

For this weeks Flash! Friday Fiction the aim was to base your story on any two of their four given story elements, I decided to go for conflict – man v nature and setting – an island. The aim is also to keep the word count between 75-125 words.
So below is what I wrote, my short story The Awakening.

The Awakening (111 words)

Awakening from a forced sleep I feel a cooling breeze and an itchy sensation on my face.
Listening to the distant breaking waves I imagine a perfectly shaped glowing pellet. It closes in and expands into a burning planet above me. Spotting the curling flames descend from the orb I watch on as they slither across night sky, generating a portal to the inside of a volcano. The peaceful and unaffected sea water lights up and reflects the fierce and tender bloodshot sky. I feel escalating footsteps numbly thudding around me, and then I remember.

Opening my eyes I stare across the deserted sandy island. They said this day was coming.

More writing today

I’ve done some more writing today for my next thriller novel Deception.

Today Billy has been told that his beloved woodlands are no longer his. He’s infuriated and now his mind is filled with anger…

Currently Writing – My next book is called…

I have been writing my thriller novel and it is getting extremely close to the juicy and big twist now.

Billy is an intriguing character and the reader will have many questions about him, but Billy currently has many questions for his love interest Eve.

Billy though is continuing to have weird thoughts, but no wonder with his current situation!

I can finally reveal that I have decided to call this new thriller Deception!

Let me know your thoughts on the book title.
