Working on Deception this evening – Chapter 17

After a long and tension filled chapter 16, Billy is left haunted but victorious. He doesn’t know the outcome of the events from the night before, but after heading back into his woodlands, it looks conclusive. The emotions he’s now feeling are new to him though.

Knowing what’s about to come, Billy has no idea what is about to hit him. The book has been building to this point, and I cannot wait to execute this part of the story – Billy’s world is about to implode.

Writing and editing Deception – Chapter 16

I’ve been working on Deception today.

Chapter 16: Billy’s in his woodlands following someone. It’s a battle for pride. Will he go too far? #amwriting #amediting #Deception #Novel #comingsoon

A quote of mine that popped into my head.

It’s been a while but I’ve given ‘Flash! Friday’ a go!

For this weeks Flash! Friday Fiction the aim was to base your story on any two of their four given story elements, I decided to go for conflict – man v nature and setting – an island. The aim is also to keep the word count between 75-125 words.
So below is what I wrote, my short story The Awakening.

The Awakening (111 words)

Awakening from a forced sleep I feel a cooling breeze and an itchy sensation on my face.
Listening to the distant breaking waves I imagine a perfectly shaped glowing pellet. It closes in and expands into a burning planet above me. Spotting the curling flames descend from the orb I watch on as they slither across night sky, generating a portal to the inside of a volcano. The peaceful and unaffected sea water lights up and reflects the fierce and tender bloodshot sky. I feel escalating footsteps numbly thudding around me, and then I remember.

Opening my eyes I stare across the deserted sandy island. They said this day was coming.

More writing today

I’ve done some more writing today for my next thriller novel Deception.

Today Billy has been told that his beloved woodlands are no longer his. He’s infuriated and now his mind is filled with anger…

Currently Writing – My next book is called…

I have been writing my thriller novel and it is getting extremely close to the juicy and big twist now.

Billy is an intriguing character and the reader will have many questions about him, but Billy currently has many questions for his love interest Eve.

Billy though is continuing to have weird thoughts, but no wonder with his current situation!

I can finally reveal that I have decided to call this new thriller Deception!

Let me know your thoughts on the book title.

A Miniature Story of mine

I’ve recently been strongly affected by something that I found out, and so I thought I would write a miniature story about it. The challenge is not to write more than 140 characters, which is a great challenge. See if you can figure out what the story is about.

‘I’m forced to come out just twice a day, made to perform and play. 5 minutes gone, off I go, back to my lonesome cave.’

Miniature Story. What’s it about?

Can you guess what my miniature story on ‘140 Story’ could be about?

 Guess away!

New Thriller New Title?

I have been trying to think of a title for my new thriller for a while now, but I may have finally thought of a title worth considering.

After originally submitting the first few chapters of ‘The Dog Walk’ for my dissertation, I then decided to continue writing it and adapt it into a full novel. I was initially going to stick with ‘The Dog Walk’ as the title for the book, but for me it just wasn’t right. I thought of titles such as ‘Woodland Walker’, ‘Collared’ and ‘Woodlands’, but none of which suited the book. Now though I have a title which is well suited and definitely my best title yet.

The piece of work originated from my Creative Writing Dissertation (Which I gladly received a First for). I did a lot of research into the field of psychogy before creating the characters and story. With my readings, I was able to create the intricate and intriguingly strange and lonely main character Billy.

I’m happy with how the story is currently unfolding, and I can’t wait to get it finished and published for all of you to read.
